I had an estimate from a “189″ company and was a little put off by all the extra charges. But they still were the cheapest bid I got.
Unfortunately I went with the cheapest.
I have had nothing but problems with them finishing the job. I’ve withheld the final payment but they don’t seem to care.
Lesson learned
James
Sadly, we hear stories like yours nearly every day.
We’re asked many times if we could come out and fix their problems. That’s really difficult for a company to do, because from then on, your name is linked to that job. While we would love to help someone out, we have no desire to have our name linked to their windows.
Homeowners need to be careful, read the fine print and examine your contract carefully to make sure you’re getting what you paid for. It’s my opinion, that when a company comes to your home, the estimate you get from them, should include everything needed to perform the project completely, with no hidden charges.
Unfortunately when all a company is interested in is being the cheapest one out there, they’ll try and get away with anything and everything they can to cut corners, and do the project as cheaply as possible. Which benefits no one but them.
Sorry for the problems you’ve had James. I actually hate hearing stories like this, because it only makes it tougher on the companies out there that really try and take care of their costumers.
